The high hat sounds like it's coming from the right speaker only and the floor tom from the left speaker. Choose Split Stereo to Mono from the Track Dropdown Menu, which makes two new mono tracks and sets them to mix together equally in both left and right channels of your listening equipment. Adjust the pan control of the upper track to 70% left.

I have a set of Logitech X-520 speakers. As I gradually turn the volume up from 0%, the right speaker comes in at 5% while the left speaker comes in at 10% and they sound even at about 20%. About 10% is the volume I would listen to music quietly, but it is clearly louder in the right speaker at this level. This is the case no matter what I connect them to or how.
So I bought a set of Logitech z623 speakers and they had the exact same problem. I returned them for another set and they had the same problem too.
So my question is: Does every set of PC speakers behave this way? If so, why?
Thanks

It is a common issue, many Z623 owners are experiencing it. I had returned my first set because of it, and my second set also has it. It's even mentioned in reviews.

if you have a soundcard or some other sound feature, set the DB up for your one that's behind. Mine does the same thing. I have Klipsch ProMedias.

Introduction
Get familiar with the Volume Balance knob to solve unequal volume problems.
- The balance knob is the rightmost knob on the front panel.
- Turning the balance knob to the right increases the sound played by the right speaker.
- Turning the knob left will increase the sound played by the left speaker.
- Turning the knob all the way to the right will make the right speaker play all the sound.
- Turning the knob all the way to the left will make the left speaker play all the sound.
- The default position is center, which should play the sound equally by both speakers.
- If this position does not play the sound equally by both speakers, experiment with different knob positions until the speakers play the sound equally.
